Developing a Policy Framework for Technological Entrepreneurship in the Urban Ecosystem

In the past ten years, research papers in a variety of disciplines, including entrepreneurship and economics, have examined the city as an ecosystem. Upon using this perspective of cities and considering entrepreneurship as a means of generating economic growth, we have to acknowledge the multitude of factors that impact this ecosystem on a micro, meso, and macro scale. Among these, policymaking and technological advancements can be regarded as the two most significant.

This article delves into a model that outlines policy imperatives for technological entrepreneurship within the urban ecosystem. Drawing on insights from entrepreneurial ecosystem dynamics, the smart city paradigm, and knowledge-based development strategies, the study explores the intricate interplay of these elements.

Employing a comparative analytical method, this research reviews existing literature on ecosystems, urban ecosystems, smart cities, and knowledge-based urban development. The parameters of each domain are systematically categorized, revealing their interconnectedness within an overarching structure. By scrutinizing how the problem is operationalized in academic literature and executive settings, the paper underscores the city's role as a dynamic ecosystem conducive to technology-driven entrepreneurship, necessitating specific regulations for effective governance.
