Abstract

CITES categorize plants in genus Taxus, one of which is Sumatran’s yew (Taxus sumatrana) as a plant in Appendix II, the conservation status of this genus according to IUCN Red list species is still in least concern category. However, in Kerinci Seblat National Park (KSNP) the spatial distribution and structure of this species is still unkown, therefore this study to do. Aims studied with nested plot methods size 20x20m in 85 plot purposive random sampling in three line transect by parameter was T. sumatrana invited. This research uses GPS (Global Positioning System), phi-band, software ArcGis 10.2. The primary data which was gathered including the location coordinat of T. sumatrana distribution as the spatial side pattern, and vegetation structure the Taxus’s. The result obtained that there are 234 T. sumatrana with 11 seedlings, 13 saplings, 33 poles, and 177 tress in Mount Kerinci. The most number of T. sumatrana was found in Mid-Montane Forest (1,900-2,400 meter above sea level). Diversity of T sumatrana 32 trees/ha with IVI 67.86% and 34 poles/ha with IVI 24.60%.
