Abstract

The Pentatomoidea is one of the largest Superfamily in suborder Hetroptera. The Survey includes 38 species under 30 genera belonging to 9 families of the Superfamily Pentatomoidea. The antennae are 5-segmented, hence, are called Pentatomomorph. Based on the size of the mesoscutellum, discussed a reliable tool to determine the primitive family character and its withdrawal in size has been treated as specialized character. Thereby, treating the family Scutelleridae and Plataspidae at the base of the phylogenetic relationship. Thorax and its appendages are also helpful to support the myth. The detailed study of pretarsal components is first time treatment to establish status and family placement. The present report further provides another biostatistical information on grouping within the Pentatomoidea.
